May 4, 2026 at 11:40 amWhat sad news. Amy was a classmate of my wife and myself in the language course, and she always struck us as strong in her grasp of Anishinaabemowin. As we are a virtual class, we had not met our fellow classmates in person, so we were very happy to have met Amy last December in Ottawa where we were all attending the AFN Assembly as vendors. It was wonderful to meet her and over the couple of days, we shared talk about the language, family stories and enjoyed a few good laughs. She was even kind enough to offer us gala dinner tickets. I am sorry we will not have the opportunity to share more of those laughs. Our sincerest condolences to her family and friends.
