Bruce Jackson January 31, 2026

Bruce Jackson, of Red Bay, died suddenly as a result of a car accident on Saturday January 31, 2026 at the age of 83 years. Loving husband and best friend of Margaret “Marg” (nee Frost) for over 54 years. Devoted father of Ryan and his wife Alison of Calgary, and Sean and his wife Andrea of Breslau. Cherished grandfather of Emma, Oscar, Reese, and Sam. Dear brother of Barb Hare of Cleveland and loving brother-in-law of Rick and Nancy Frost of Winnipeg. Sadly missed by his nieces and nephews.
Bruce was an amazing sales rep for Bailey Canada and a great storyteller. He always had hilarious tales to tell of his time in the industrial centres of Hamilton and surrounding areas. His memory was incredible and he had such a way of words that even the most harrowing experience had listeners laughing. He always referred to people in his stories using both their first and last name. But most importantly, his eyes would light up as he proudly shared stories of his sons and grandkids. Bruce could make friends with anyone at a moment and he loved a great conversation on any subject whatsoever. When he said it was time for a coffee, he really meant it was time to get out of the house and meet up with friends.
Bruce loved a ‘drive’. If there were two ways home, you could depend on him to take the longer one (The short cut!). Ryan and Sean as little guys would beg to take the “long cut” because it was shorter. Bruce was always recounting adventurous experiences from his decades of road trips.
After retirement, Bruce and Marg moved to Red Bay. Bruce loved Red Bay. It was in his blood; his friends, the beach, the lake, the sailboats, the sunsets, all made his life complete.
Bruce would want all of his family and friends to carry on without tears and fuss, a very hard thing to do for those of us who loved him. A Celebration of Life will be held this summer.
Family wish to express their gratitude to the doctors and nursing staff of the Wiarton and Owen Sound hospitals for the wonderful care given to the family. Donations to either hospital would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041. I was so deeply saddened to hear about Bruce’s passing. My heart goes out to you.

Bruce’s kindness, steadiness, and willingness to help during the election meant a great deal to me, and I will never forget the support that you both gave so generously. It wasn’t just the help itself—it was the care and belief behind it that stayed with me.

Please know that I am holding you close in my thoughts. I hope you feel surrounded by love and support in the days ahead, and I am wishing you strength and peace as you navigate this loss.

    With sympathy and gratitude,

Dearest Marg, Ryan, Sean and families Where do you start to convey our condolences every memory has a million stories to it: family gatherings, trips together, Thursday dinners, Sunday breakfasts, long rides, stopping to take pictures of old barns one of Bruce’s many passions. What is the difference between a good friend and a Best Friend: a good friend remembers all your stories, and a Best Friend helped you write them, yes you did! Love Larry, Marie ,Trisha, Patrick, Ali, Clarke and Liam forever in our hearts
