Dan Booth – of Sauble Beach, peacefully at Brightshores Health System – Wiarton on Wednesday January 21, 2026 at the age of 65 years. Beloved husband and best friend of Diane (nee St. John) for over 40 years. Dear father of Brian (Amy), of Kemble, Brant (Ann), of Hepworth, and Brandon (Kirsten), of Sauble Beach. Cherished grandfather of Jacob, Alexander, Gabriel, and Mackenzie. Brother of Terry, and Bob, both of Windsor; and brother-in-law of Lisa Booth, of Windsor, and Ellen (John Brightman), of Victoria Harbour, and Deborah Booth. Predeceased by his parents, Bob and Fran; in-laws Len and Marg St. John; brother, David; sister-in-law Ann Booth; and brother-in-law, Steve St. John. Sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Dan’s family wish to express their gratitude to Dr. Megan Grigg and the nursing staff of the Wiarton Hospital for the care they provided.
Dan will be sadly missed not only by his family and friends, but the thousands of customers he met over his 20 years of serving and delivering to them from Pizza Delight in Sauble Beach.
Dan was one of the best, he was a true family man, a dedicated father to his 3 sons, a wonderful father-in-law, a loving grandfather, and the most wonderful loving husband and a true partner in anything we did.
Through his many years at Pizza Delight he was always helpful through community sponsorships and donations to community organizations
During the years that our sons played hockey in Shallow Lake Dan helped with coaching, referee scheduling and volunteering whenever needed.
When we lived in Windsor and our sons played baseball he served on the board of directors for Walker Homesites baseball organization, he helped coach teams and worked many bingos to help raise money for the league.
In his few retirement years Dan enjoyed a few rounds of golf. He completed many projects around the house that we didn’t get to while working. He especially looked forward to his Monday night poker games with his buddies.
Dan loved to BBQ and soak up the sun in the backyard while watching or playing with our grandchildren in the pool.
Dan’s family and friends meant everything to him, and if they needed help he would volunteer in any way he could. Even through the many years of working we couldn’t always get together, when we did, it seemed like yesterday.
We had so much fun through our 40+ years, no matter where we went and what we did, his infectious personality made everyone welcome and he could always make you laugh. He always looked for the best in everyone.
Dan was an ultimate leader and through his calm demeanor, his intelligence and smart wit we all learned the true value of honesty, trust, value in others and oneself, dedication to work, the true meaning of family and how to laugh and enjoy life.
Anyone who met Dan, couldn’t help but like him. He had a genuine kind heart and a beautiful caring soul.
Even through his difficult struggle these past months, Dan would smile, make us laugh and he was still looking out for the rest of us.
Mocha our loving dog, watched over him day and night. She watched his every move, gave him lots of hugs and made sure we were there to help. Mocha misses him dearly too.
Dan was truly a remarkable man. He was loved so much and will be greatly missed by everyone.
Now it’s your time to rest Dan. I hope with all your years of guiding us, teaching us and loving us, that we can continue to make you proud.
We love you Dan, please rest easy and peacefully.
Family invite you to gather with them for a Celebration of Life on Sunday April 12th, 2026 from 11-3 pm at the Hepworth Legion. 9 Legion Rd., Hepworth.
Arrangements entrusted to the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated. Condolences may be expressed online at www.whitcroftfuneralhome.com

January 24, 2026 at 7:25 pmIt is with the deepest sadness that I give my condolences to the entire Booth family. Dan was a poker player extraordinaire and cherished friend to all that sat at our table. His friendship, his kindness, his generosity, and his unique sense of humor will be so dearly missed. I know I speak for everyone from Monday night poker when I say it was a privilege to know Dan and call him our friend. Every time we look out that window from our poker chairs inside the garage, we will remember his grin and his gesture to raise even though he hadn’t seen his cards. Dan’s chair is retired but the memories he provided us will live on forever. Fold the Ace-Queen Coach, Dan has you beat.

January 24, 2026 at 7:42 pmDeepest sympathies to Dan’s family and friends. It was just a given that any pizza would be cold when it arrived home, because my family understood that Dan and I would get talking…And these were conversations that were both enjoyable and respectful. A true gentlemen…

January 25, 2026 at 7:26 pmWe are so sorry that Dan is no longer with us. He was such a great man – funny, positive, and a good friend. He worked hard to support his family – the pride of his life. We remember when he met Diane at Octoberfest and were happy that she saw that special quality in him and went on a date that turned into a lifetime of commitment.
He will be missed but he has left a mark that will last well into the future.

February 9, 2026 at 6:59 pmSending my heartfelt condolences to Dan’s family…. I have run the Saugeen library for 13 years and it was an absolute pleasure and privilege to get to know Dan over those years, he always had a smile on his face and was always so kind and welcoming. We ordered pizza weekly for our afterschool program and the kids would anxiously wait for Dan’s Van to pull up… they would all run out to greet and help Dan bring in the food. He will be greatly missed by myself, my staff and all the kids he met over here throughout the years.
