Donna Wiese September 14, 2025

WIESE, Donna Mae – Passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospital, Kitchener on Sunday, Sept. 14th at 93 yrs. Survived by daughters, Shawn (Ray), Janice (Doug). Daughter-in-law Holly, and Sister-in-law Edith Dreisinger. Grandchildren Patrick (Shannon), Jessica, Michael, Meghan (Mark), Christian, Bradley and Nikki. Great Grandchildren Sarah, Lainey, Claire, Alora, Sasha and Quinn. Predeceased by husband Wilfred Wiese and son, Bradley Wiese. After graduation, Donna worked at Merchants Rubber in the office for several years. Donna started dancing at age five, and in later years studied at the National Ballet Summer School and in New York City to advance her training. She taught dance at Elsie V Ewald Academy of Dance retiring as vice principal after forty years. Donna and Fred retired up to Wiarton where they met many friends. Donna worked with the hospital auxiliary for twenty one years, and as president for several years selling H.E.L.P. tickets, and supervising the food booth at the cattle sale, raising money for hospital equipment for both Wiarton and Owen Sound hospitals. Donna returned to Kitchener closer to all her family, which included many breakfasts out with her nieces and nephews. She was quick to laugh and a wonderful hostess, inviting all into her homes wherever she lived. She was an avid baker sharing all of her goodies with family and friends. She was a strong independent woman, capable of multitasking farm chores, canning, raising kids, yet kept something for herself. Her dance career kept her teaching and organizing kids through many recitals year after year. She was a woman committed to her family and community. Donna finally retired at 86yrs from volunteer work, helping out at the Breakfast Club in Kitchener, serving kids at a before school program. We were all extremely lucky to have her in our lives. She will be dearly missed by many. In lieu of flowers, donations to Diabetes, Lung or the Heart Associations would be greatly appreciated. As requested by Donna, there will be no service. A family gathering will be held at a later date to honour this amazing woman. Many thanks to all the staff on the Cardiology ward that helped her through her final days. Arrangements entrusted to the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041. Condolences may be expressed online at www.whitcroftfuneralhome.com

I will never forget Mrs.Wiese. She always had a warm hug and a reassuring smile for all the girls (and a few boys) at Miss Ewalds. Mrs.Wiese was loved and will always be treasured.

My daughter was a student at the Ewald Academy of Dance from the age of 3 in 1984 until she was 18. While she was in class the mothers (and some fathers) would sit in the waiting room and spend time socializing and Donna was always there. We had good times together and shared many stories. She was a lovely lady. My condolences to the family.

The Wiarton Hospital Auxiliary remembers Donna as a very hard working and dedicated volunteer. Donna served several terms as President of our Auxiliary, and she helped organize and sell the HELLP lottery tickets at our local grocery store. These funds help purchase much needed equipment for our local hospital. Donna was a natural organizer, keeping everything moving at the feeder sales in Wiarton. She was an excellent baker donating her pies to the sales and also many goodies for our annual Christmas sale. We remember Donna for her many contributions to our hospital auxiliary and all the friendships she left us.
Our sincere condolences to Donna’s family for your loss.
