George Knuff November 13, 2023

George Alexander Knuff – of Markdale, and previously of Collingwood, peacefully at Brightshores Health System – Markdale on Monday November 13, 2023 at the age of 95 years. Devoted husband to Maria (nee Visser) for 64 years. Dear father of Norman and his wife Karen, of Maple Ridge, BC, Catherine and her husband Rudi Stofast, of Georgian Bluffs, and Margaret, of Markdale. Cherished grandfather of George Knuff and his partner Jessica Brodeur, of Vancouver, BC, and Katelyn and her husband Robert Janzen, of Port Coquitlam, BC.; and great-grandfather of Clara Janzen. Missed by his brother, Ken (late Eileen), of Burlington. Sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, and many friends. Predeceased by his parents, Norman and Jean (nee McLeish). Family wish to express their appreciation to the doctors and nursing staff of the Markdale Hospital for the wonderful care given to George. Family invite you to gather with them at Cooke’s Presbyterian Church, 14 George St. Markdale on December 13, 2023 at 2 o’clock for a service to celebrate George’s life, with visitation from 1-2 PM. A reception will follow in the church hall until 4 PM. Interment in Collingwood Presbyterian Cemetery, Collingwood at a later date. Donations to the Markdale Hospital or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada would be appreciated by the family and can be made through the Thomas C.
