Lillian Nadjiwan of Neyaashiinigmiing, passed away peacefully at the Golden Dawn Nursing Home, Lions Head on Saturday April 4, 2026. Susan Lillian Ruth Nadjiwan (ne Pelletier) at the age of 92 years. Lillian is predeceased by her loving husband of 65 years, Robert Ernest “Ernie” Nadjiwan and her daughter, Kimberley and son Michael. She is survived by her children Brenda Nadjiwan (Dave Towndrow), Shelley Cornelius (James Cornelius), Paul Nadjiwan (Stella Pellissey), and Timothy Nadjiwan; and her sister-in-law Annette Keeshig. She is affectionately remembered by 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Augustin “Gus” and Susan; brothers, Isador, Howard, Victor, and Maurice; sisters, Evelyn, Violet, and Mabel; brother-in-law, Clifford Nadjiwan (Eva); sisters-in-law, Vera (Nick Kukhta), and Dorothy (Ross Johnston); and brother-in-law Giles Keeshig. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the Neyaashiinigmiing Health Centre, PSW workers and staff that cared for Lillian in community, the caregivers and staff at Golden Dawn Senior Citizens home, Dr. Barrett and nursing staff at Wiarton Hospital. Family invite the community to gather with them for visitation from the Cape Croker Community Centre on Thursday April 9, 2026 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11 o’clock at St. Mary’s Church, Neyaashiinigmiing. Donations to the War Amps or to Royal Canadian Legion Br. 208 Wiarton would be appreciated.     I was very sorry to hear of Cousin Lillian’s passing. She and Ernie never failed to make me laugh- they were a wonderful couple. Lillian would always tell me that she was my favourite cousin. My deepest condolences to her family.

    Dear Shelley and Family,
    I am thinking of you all as I remember Lillian in her days at the Golden Dawn…serene, wise, happy, grateful, and kind….and full of life and laughter. She graciously volunteered to be photographed for our Golden Dawn Legacy giving pamphlets…and the photo was stunning…Lillian smiling radiantly with the blue waters of Georgian Bay behind her. This is the photo you see in her obituary today, and that is how I will always picture her. I had told her just how wonderful that photo was…and still is… and I had thanked her for supporting our fundraising at the Dawn, not knowing she would leave us so soon. She has already left a legacy at the Dawn, even though she was with us for only a short time. God Bless you, my friend…..Brian

    I am so very sorry to hear that our beautiful Lillian has passed away. She was joy personified. She was always kind to me and my family. My mom Lucie Johnston loved her and I know Lillian loved her back. She looked on the bright side of life and could make me both laugh and cry with her kindness. My sincere condolences to her family. She must have been a wonderful mother, grandmother and aunt. I will keep her and her family in my prayers. Meegwetch

    Lillian will be missed by the many life’s she has touched, yet she gave us beautiful memories to cherish, Thank you God for blessing me to have such a beautiful friend to come into my life.

    Please accept my most sincere condolences for your loss of your dear mother. She was a kind, happy person. When my husband, Joe , passed Lillian gave me her support. I will always remember this.     My family and I met Lillian at her home approximately 10 years ago. We would visit Neyaashiinigmiing often to see family and enjoy the beauty of the area. My father-in law Marcel LaVallee or “Pep” as he was known introduced us to Lillian and she immediately made us feel welcome in her home. After our first meeting we would stop by regularly to visit her, always welcomed by a hug and a kiss and never too busy to sit and chat. Our visits were not long but they were meaningful and full of warmth and kindness. Our entire family was saddened by her passing, and we will miss our little visits, but most of all we will miss her kind way.

    My heart and condolences to all of sweet, kind Lillian’s family and loved ones. I loved bumping into her when she was on her walks in the community and was always warmly welcomed by her where ever we met. She will be greatly missed and forever loved.
