Marie Wilson of Lion’s Head, peacefully at Brightshores Health System Owen Sound on Thursday May 8, 2025. Christine Gertrude Marie Wilson (nee McLay) at the age of 79 years. Beloved wife of the late Romayne “Moon” Wilson (2016). Dear mother of Tammy Schummelketel (partner Terry Jones), of Hepworth, Ray Wilson (Annette), of Wiarton, and Jeff Wilson (Sandra), of Miller Lake. Cherished grandmother of Zachary, Rachael (Tristan), Britanie (Amhid), Kelsi (Tyler), Brittney (John), Emily (Cole), and Kirkland; and many great-grandchildren. Sister of JoAnne Mackie (late Nelson Lyons), of Lion’s Head, Donelda (Tom McAfee), of Tobermory, and Trish (Bill Thompson), of Ferndale; and sister-in-law of Goldie (Clayton Mielhausen), Patsy McArthur (late Dale), and Gail (Barry Thorn). Predeceased by her parents, Lal and Dot; brother-in-law, John Wilson; and sister-in-law, Laverne Wilson. Sadly missed by her nieces and nephews, and many friends. Family wish to express their thanks to Dr. Thomas, and the staff of the Lion’s Head and Owen Sound hospitals. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Lion’s Head Rotary Hall on Friday May 16, 2025 from 1-4 PM, with a Time of Sharing at 2 o’clock. Interment of ashes in Dunks Bay Cemetery at a later date.     Don and I were heartbroken to learn of Marie’s passing. Such a wonderful, kind, sweet and beautiful soul loved by all who knew her. We have especially fond memories of minor hockey with young Ray playing and Don and Moon on the bench…how dare they play a girl on the team in the late seventies. What a debacle that caused in the OMHA. How times have changed!

    We all thank our lucky stars to have been given Marie. She will live on in our hearts!

    We are so very sorry to hear of Marie.
    She was such a kind and pleasant soul.
    Always remember her coming in on Friday nights to do her grocery shopping. In later years we would catch up when she was at Grey Bruce Upholstery. Cherish your memories. Thinking of you all at this most difficult time.
