Paul Hatt July 9, 2024

Date of Funeral

July 13, 2024

Paul Donald Hatt of Acton and formerly of Lions Head, passed away suddenly in Stokes Bay, on Tuesday July 9, 2024 at the age of 49. He was a devoted husband, loving father, beloved son, supportive uncle, cherished nephew, dear brother, loyal friend, and an amazing pet owner.
Paul was born in Lions Head, Ontario, and his roots in the Bruce Peninsula shaped his love for the outdoors. He had a passion for hunting, fishing and music. Paul’s enthusiasm for these activities was matched only by his deep love for his family and friends. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with loved ones, creating lasting memories that enriched the lives of all who knew him.
Paul also had a special place in his heart for the Toronto Maple Leafs, faithfully following their journey through the seasons and sharing his passion for hockey with those around him.
In addition to his hobbies and interests, Paul was known for his kindness and gentle spirit. He was the pillar of strength and support to his family and friends, always ready with a listening ear and a helping hand.
Paul will be deeply missed by his beloved wife and best friend Alison (nee Shearer), his children Brandon Hatt and Megan Hatt, both of Owen Sound, Zachary Bourne, of Acton and Kailey Bourne, of Australia, his parents Ken and Lynn Hatt, of Stokes Bay, and son-in-law of the late Carl and Sandra Shearer, of Lion’s Head, his siblings Dennis Hatt (Kristy), of Wiarton, and Cindy McMann (Rick) of Lion’s Head, and brother-in-law of Billy Shearer of Lion’s Head, his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends (you know who you are), and his cherished pets Jolene, Jules and Smudge. His presence brought warmth and joy to all who knew him, and his memory will forever live on in their hearts.
The family would like to invite friends to gather for a Celebration of Paul’s life at the Stokes Bay Community Centre on Saturday July 13, 2024 from 1:00 to 4:00PM, with the Time of Sharing from 2:00 to 3:00PM. Family invite you to wear your Toronto Maple Leaf attire if you wish.
Paul leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished moments. Paul touched the lives of many with his kindness, generosity, and warmth. May he rest in peace knowing he was deeply loved and will be sadly missed.
“Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near; still loved, still missed, and very dear.”
Arrangements entrusted to the Thomas C Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041. Donations to the Stokes Bay Community Centre or to the Golden Dawn Senior Citizen Home would be appreciated. Condolences may be expressed online at www.whitcroftfuneralhome.com

Our condolences to the Hatt family. We first met Paul when we needed some help with our cottage. We asked if he could help. He not only helped us but did it quickly and engaged his family to get it done quickly and safe for us. We felt like we made a friend. Someone who was so kind, caring and communicative with us. Because of his great work we asked him to do some renovations on our cottage. With his son and brother they did an amazing job with our bathroom and front hall. We were devastated to hear of his death. The world has lost a kind, caring and gentle man. We will miss you Paul. We had hoped we could have some more journeys with you and the evolution of our cottage. May you rest in peace and watch over your favourite place Stokes Bay.
