Mom will be deeply missed by myself, Cathy, granddaughters and their families. We remember how much she enjoyed our Christmas get togethers with all the siblings and cousins. Everyone with a talent was encouraged to perform and she enjoyed watching her children, grandchildren and her great grandchildren show off their skills such as magic and music and various other talents.
Mom was a talented painter in her younger days and she particularly liked the works of The Group of Seven. She painted a copy of a Lawren Harris original and it was hung with pride in her home for many years.
She was an avid reader and always had books to be read however, as her sight diminished, she was forced to listen to books on tape which brought her a great deal of pleasure.
My fondest memories are of times spent at mom and David’s home in Oliphant when I would spend a few days visiting with her where we would have long conversations and walks around her garden as she would point out every plant and beam with pride.
She enjoyed the rivalry between Jeff and I when we would spend an afternoon on the golf course together and was always anxious to hear who won and was amused at our competitiveness.
She will be missed by our family.
    Grayson and Cathy Coady

I have been reflecting on so many wonderful memories in recent days, and reminiscing about time I spent with grandma and grandpa David when I was a child. I remember that I especially enjoyed visiting their beautiful Victorian home in Hamilton, where Christmas was exceptionally special, and memories of baking bread with grandpa and grandma there will forever hold a special place in my heart. In her younger days, my grandmother was a gifted artist and avid gardener. Her talents have been a source of inspiration to me throughout my life, as I attribute many of my own creative interests to her. Grandma leaves a beautiful legacy behind, and her influence will continue to bloom in the creative pursuits of her other grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who continue to carry her artistic spirit forward. Grandma Paula will be deeply loved and missed by myself, my husband, Tom and sons, Braden, and Liam.

Our family loved to visit grandma Paula and grandpa Dave at their lake home. Grandma always put on the Sound of Music for the grandkids to watch after a day out swimming. We will miss our conversations with her and her comments on the books she would be reading or listening to. She always loved the annual Christmas family day with all the festivities. She will be greatly missed by our family. May she rest peacefully.

We all miss our mother very much and will have memories to keep with us always. One of the sweet memories I have is when I went to visit her and mom was making me my favourite cookie, Belgium, because she knew how much I loved them. It was such a thoughtful surprise. We could talk about anything and everything. She was a good listener. Now she can rest easy. Mom is very much loved and missed my myself, Richard and her grandchildren, Tanya and Chris.

Missing my grandma is a bittersweet experience that holds a special place in my heart. As the nostalgic memories flood my mind, I find solace in reminiscing about the joyful times we shared, especially during the Christmas season when our entire family would come together, eagerly awaiting the arrival of Santa Claus. Those magical moments filled with laughter and love profoundly impacted me as a child and continue to shape the person I am today. As I recall those cherished times, wishing she were here to partake in the festivities once more. However, her spirit lives on in my heart, prompting me to remember the joy she brought into our lives.

Farewell to my grandmother. I will miss your laughter and your matter-of-fact observations. In considering the measure of a life, here is a quote from Zane Grey, “Recipe For Greatness – To bear up under loss; To fight the bitterness of defeat and the weakness of grief; To be victor over anger; To smile when tears are close; To resist disease and evil men and base instincts; To hate hate and to love love; To go on when it would seem good to die; To look up with unquenchable faith in something ever more about to be. That is what any person can do, and be great.”
