I could say that we have all lost a great man, but I think it more apt to say that we were all blessed to know him. I’ll never forget how at work when people would call up and do the standard “How are you today?” Greeting, he would reply with a “not bad, yet”, just in case their call was that turning point. But it never was. No matter what was happening, he could find humour in it. I loved that he would listen to anyone, and if their idea sounded good, he’d give it a go. A real role model for dealing with change. I miss you already, Stan; but you and your family will never be forgotten.

Growing up next door to the McNeils was such a blessing. So much time spent at Aunt Laura and Uncle Alex’s, most of it tormenting the boys. Stan was the big brother I always wanted, and my favourite babysitter. I bugged him so much. He was so kind and funny. Thank you for putting up with me for all these years. ❤️ Thinking of Sheila and the family.

My sincere condolences Sheila on the passing of Stan. I have lots of great memories growing up in Clavering. I am not sure anyone broke more windows from Stans power in hitting the baseball. Everyone always wanted to be on Stan’s team if you were running bases when Stan was up to bat, you knew you could take your time running to home base as it would be a homerun every time. His huge smile and gregarious grin along with his gentleness is how I will remember Stan. My thoughts and prayers are with the Buckland and McNeil families and their friends at this sad time.

As a kid growing up in Clavering I always thought of Stan as being very kind like the friendly giant. He always had that big smile and liked to chat. He umpired our ball games and later refereed our broomball games. He was always willing to help out. We would see each other at the hairdressers lately and he would always be fixing things. Rest in Peace Stan. Thinking of your family, taken way to young.
