Of Neyaashiinigmiing, peacefully at Brightshores Health System Wiarton on Wednesday October 11, 2023. Theresa Edith Nadjiwon (nee Akiwenzie) at the age of 89 years. Dear mother of Marilyn and her husband Dean Gavard, and Mark and his wife Nora, both of Neyaashiinigmiing. Cherished grandmother of Jocelyn Gavard, Rozlyn Gavard, and Darren Nadjiwon (partner Cassandra King); and great-grandmother of Cash Robbins, Richard Jones, Aaliyah Nadjiwon, Declan Nadjiwon, and Harper Nadjiwon. Sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, John Nadjiwon; parents, Resime and Florence Akiwenzie; brother, Ambrose Akiwenzie and his wife Sylvia; sisters, Shirley and her husband Ivan Reeves, Agnes Akiwenzie, and Delphine Pelletier; and dear granddaughter, Marcie Nadjiwon. Family invite friends to gather for visitation at the Maadookii Senior Centre, Neyaashiinigmiing on Friday October 13, 2023 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM, where a service to celebrate Theresa’s life will be conducted on Saturday morning at 11 o’clock.     Sending my deepest sympathy and kindest thoughts to Theresa’s family. Theresa and I have enjoyed a decades long friendship, which often meant we visited for half an hour in the grocery store when were both out shopping.     So sorry for your loss. I have many fond memories of visits with your Mom and Dad during my time on Cape Croker and when I was able to stop in on my travels through. May all your memories give you peace in this time of grief.

    I am sorry to hear of the loss of Aunty Theresa. We had some good visits over the years. She once surprised me by showing me a scrapbook with newspaper articles about me that she had gathered. Condolences to Marilyn and Mark
