Wanja von Dungern - Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral & Chapel

Wanja von Dungern passed away peacefully at Brightshores Health System – Wiarton on Friday August 9, 2024. Wanja Kate von Dungern (nee Wawrinsky) at the age of 92 years. Dear mother of Peter (Doreen), of Georgian Bluffs, James, of Welland, and Eric (Vivian), of Georgian Bluffs. Cherished grandmother of Bonnie (partner Mark), Bradley (partner Stephanie), Brandon, Matthew, Nicole (Josh Labre), Mark, Ben, Thomas, Michael (Leslie), Kristina, and Ryan. Forever missed by her great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Sadly missed by her daughters-in-law, Heather and Phyllis; and by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Sven and Kate; husband, Thomas Stephens; son, Frederick “Teddy”; and sisters, Caroline, and Gorel. Family wish to thank the staff of the Wiarton Hospital and the Wiarton Retirement Residence for the care given to Wanja. Friends may call for visitation at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Peninsula Chapel, 272 Berford St., Wiarton (519) 534-5341 on Friday August 16, 2024 from 12-2, where a service to celebrate Wanja’s life will be held at 2 o’clock. We will always hold fond memories of Wanja as she was such a pleasure to have at our Retirement Home in Wiarton. She was our first resident when our doors opened in 2020 and will be greatly missed.
