Of Wiarton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at GBHS, Wiarton on Friday, Sept 26, 2014. Ellery Hepburn of Wiarton at the age of 88. Beloved husband of the late Mae (nee Bennett) 2007. Dear father of Karen (Jack MacKinnon) of Yellowknife; Kathy (David Wilson) of Sauble Beach; Gwen (Ernie Farrow) of Colpoys Bay; Marilyn (Garth Campbell) of Hepworth; Keith (Dianne) of Wiarton; Brent (Wanda) of Wiarton; Vern (Diane) of Markdale; Vic (Brenda) of Wiarton; and Melanie (Graham Craig) of Belfast Ireland. Son of the late Stanley and Louisa (nee Soper) Hepburn. Ellery is survived by 18 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Also survived by his sisters Alice Osborne, Lorna (Bev Porter), Norma (Barry Osborne), Lynda (Mel Hurley), Maisie (Ian Rogers); his brother John (Doreen) Hepburn; his brother-in-law Mac Burk; and his sisters-in-law Marlene (Ross Davidson); and Marlene Taylor. Sadly missed by his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Ellery was pre-deceased by his son-in-law Rick Gilbert; his sister Eileen; his brother Allan (and his wife Audrey); and his brothers-in-law Gord Bennett, Merlind Osborne, Arnold (and his wife Myrtle) Bennett; and his sister-in-law Connie Burk. Family invite friends to call at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Peninsula Chapel, 272 Berford St, Wiarton (519) 534-5341 for visitations on Tuesday Sept 30 from 2-4 pm and from 7-9 pm. A service celebrating Ellery’s life will be conducted on Wed Oct 1 at 1 pm from St. John’s United Church, Berford St, Wiarton. Interment in Colpoys Bay Cemetery.
