Loving husband and best friend to Margaret (nee Howe) for over 60 years. Devoted father to Norma and her husband Mike Hellyer, of Wiarton, Clayton and his wife Keri, of Owen Sound, and Marlene, of Brampton. Cherished grandfather of Michelle Hellyer, Allan Hellyer and his wife Ashley, Travis Carter and his wife Katrina, Derek Carter and his partner Jess Nicholson, Megan Nicholls and her partner Damen Schaub, and Mathew Nicholls; and great-grandfather of Xavier, Lylah, Cayden, and Kalleigh. Brother of Bob and his wife Gladys, of Guelph, and Herb and his wife Norma, of Wiarton; and brother-in-law of Austin Thompson, of Colpoy’s Bay, Hector Howe and his wife Kay, of RR#3 Owen Sound, Ted Howe and his wife Sue, of Port Colborne, and Isobel and her husband Bill Arnold, of Oliphant. He is sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by a brother, Arthur; sisters, Audrey Hepburn, and Marge Thompson; brother-in-law Bill Hepburn; and by a great-granddaughter, Maisie. Jack will always be remembered for his love of bus travel, concerts, hunting and woodworking, but especially his enthusiasm for the Owen Sound Attack. Above all else, family was Jack’s true passion. Friends are invited to visit with family at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Peninsula Chapel, 272 Berford St., Wiarton (519) 534-5341 on Tuesday, November 4 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, where a service to celebrate Jack’s life will be conducted on Wednesday at 1 o’clock.
