Named for the county he was born in and where he desired to make a lasting difference. Vowed never to see a church door close in Wiarton during his lifetime. Bob passed away suddenly in Thunder Bay, on Friday May 2, 2014 at the age of 59 years. Loving husband and best friend to Julianne (nee Rieck) for over 35 years. Cherished father of James (partner Emily Lauzon), of Ottawa, and Caleb (friend Amy Petersen), of Wiarton. Brother of Frances (David Switzer), of Calgary, John (partner Elaine Patton), of Balmy Beach, Barb Mayrhofer, of Nanaimo, BC, David, of Wiarton, Brian (wife Sangita), of Fort McMurray, Janet (partner Tom Wheildon), of Chatsworth, and Linda Davidson-Hull, of Salt Spring Island, BC; and brother-in-law of Connie (Jeff McCreight), of Keswick, Lynn Rieck, of New Dundee, Donna Rieck, of Ayr, and Crystal (Mark Beerman), of Campden. Caring son-in-law of June Rieck, of New Dundee. Sadly missed by his nieces, nephews and many friends. Predeceased by his parents Leeming and Margaret (nee Bagley); father-in-law Robert Rieck; and brother William “Bill”. Family invite you to gather for visitation at the family home (574 Gould St., Wiarton) on Thursday from 7-9 PM, and Friday from 2-9 PM. We would welcome prepared stories, memories, and thoughts of Robert that can be passed on to his sons. These written memories will be compiled at a later date for the intention of guidance. A service to celebrate Bob’s life will be conducted from the Hepworth Baptist Church on the morning of Saturday May 10 at 11 o’clock. Interment in Colpoy’s Bay cemetery at a later date.
