Alice Sear January 18, 2025

SEAR, Alice Beatrice (nee Given)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alice Sear, who passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025 in her 96th year. Alice lived a full life filled with love, grace, and kindness, and was a reminder to all who knew her of the beauty in the simplest moments.

Beloved wife of the late Robert Sear. Loving mother of Sherill (Kim White), and Sharon (Dalton Hobbs). Alice cherished her granddaughters, Shannon (Brett Perron) and Elizabeth (Jason Cain); and her great grandchildren, Evelyn, Avery, Addie, Greyson, and Beckett. Survived by her sister-in-law Shirley Given, special cousin Vivian MacDonald, cousins, nieces, nephews and her Pike Bay United Church family. Predeceased by her parents, William and Beatrice Given; brothers, Jim, Bert, Bud, Morgan, and Milton; and sisters-in-law, Carrie, Irene, Kathy, Sally, and Betty (Hudson).

Alice found joy in the little things – whether it was a quiet afternoon spent with loved ones, the sound of birds singing, or the warmth of a sunny day. Her ability to appreciate life’s simple pleasures was a gift to all who shared in those moments with her. She taught us all how to love without expectation, forgive without condition, and find joy in every corner of life. Rest in peace, Mom/G.G. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. Your light will continue to shine in the hearts of those who loved you.

Family wish to express their gratitude to Hampton Court Retirement Home, and to Dr. Uffen and Sarah for the wonderful care given to their mom.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Alice’s life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to the Pike Bay United Church would be appreciated. Arrangements made at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Peninsula Chapel, Wiarton (519) 534-5341.

Sherill, Sharon and Families: It is indeed with deep sadness to hear of Aunt Ally’s passing. I always admired her grace, poise and gentle nature. She shared very touching stories with me about my Dad’s character that I carry with me always–this was a special gift that she gave to me. She had run a good race. Love to all, Trish Nolan.

I had the pleasure Of meeting this fine fine lady and her daughters in particular Sharon golfing and being out and about. I can see the fine values that she provided to Sharon and also her grandchildren and great grandchildren. That is pretty darn precious.
A life well lived and gifts she provided to her family and leaving is never easy but such great memories last forever. RIP
