Blaine Gilbert passed away peacefully at Brightshores Health System – Wiarton on Saturday September 21, 2024. Donald Blaine Gilbert at the age of 75 years. Beloved husband to Wilda (nee Perry) for over 55 years. Dear father of Kim (Steven Rydall), and Kevin Gilbert (Lisa), both of Purple Valley. Cherished Papa of Justine Rydall, Jordan Rydall (Chelsea), Brenden Gilbert (partner Alexis Mancini), Brookelyn Gilbert (fiancé Zac Goodacre), and Brie Gilbert (partner Reid Thomson); and great-grandfather of Lily Rydall, Colby Rydall, and Beau Goodacre. Dear brother of Gail Gilbert (Doreen), of Wiarton, Joy Thorn (late Bruce), of Wiarton, Roland Gilbert (Winnie), of Kitchener, late Barry Gilbert (Brenda), of Wiarton, and Jill (late Gerry Mann), of Kitchener; and brother-in-law of Dave Perry (Carolyn), of Owen Sound, Ron Perry (Pat), of Hepworth, Bob Perry (Jean), of Calgary, Gloria (late Bob Thomas), of Wolseley, Colleen (Mike Thomas), of Wolseley, Ken Perry (Kim), of Shallow Lake, Tim Perry (Nancy), of Paris, and Patty (Doug Wright), of Calgary. Sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Nora; his infant sister, Mary Elizabeth; and a sister-in-law, Sally Gilbert. Family wish to express their gratitude to Dr. Megan Grigg and the staff of the Wiarton Hospital for the wonderful care given to Blaine. You are invited to a Memorial Gathering at the Purple Valley Hall, 565 Purple Valley Rd., South Bruce Peninsula on Friday September 27, 2024 from 1-3 PM, with a Time of Sharing at 2 o’clock.
