Colin Windover November 15, 2023

Peacefully at his Howdenvale residence on Wednesday November 15, 2023 at the age of 61 years. Colin will always be remembered for his love of golf, curling, lawn bowling, yoga, hiking and whatever new experience came his way. Always there to lend a helping hand to his many friends. Loving husband and best friend of Bronia (nee Gabrek) for 13 years. Devoted son to Anne (nee Connor) and the late Vernal Windover. Brother-in-law of Madalane (Frank), Maria (Bill), Jeannie (Dave), Kenneth (Freda). Sadly missed by his cousins, Shelly, Dave, and Harvie, many other family members, and by his faithful cat, Stewie. Predeceased by his sister, Adele Windover (2023); and a brother-in-law, Frank (Mary). Family wish to express their gratitude to Dr. Nelvia VanDorp and to Colin’s VON nurse, Kylae for the wonderful and compassionate care he was given. Dear Bronia. For the past 13 years your family has been comforted by how Colin was such a perfect match for you. 2 stars slowly collided creating a brighter star. Colin wanted to hike the Bruce Trail but life decided differently for him. We pray that today he is In his dream living under the stars watching over you. Your memories will comfort you and bring you much laughter. We are here for support in your greatest time of need. With all our love, Madalane, Frank and family

Had the pleasure of golfing with Colin for a few years before his diagnosis. He always had a funny story and there were lots of laughs. I found him to be loyal, trustworthy and honest. He faced his illness with an attitude that was admirable. My condolences to you Bronia, and the rest of the family.

There are no words to describe the sadness Colin’s passing brings. He fought so hard and faced every obstacle with fierce determination and so much hope. You could see it in his eyes. He had a quiet strength and a warm wit and I always enjoyed chatting to him at our family gatherings. He was the love of Bronia’s life and she held his heart in hers. We grieve with her at this sad time and will remember him fondly… forever and always xx

I met Colin a few years ago at Sauble Golf Course, and from there we became early morning golfing friends. Colin was a person who would go out of his way to help anyone. I am proud to have called him my friend. He battled hard this past year but is finally at rest. My condolences to Bronia and family. Thoughts and prayers coming your way.
