Freda Henry – formerly of Georgian Bluffs, peacefully at Gateway Haven in Wiarton, on Sunday April 28, 2024. Freda Lillian Georgena Henry (nee Ward) at the age of 81 years. Beloved wife of the late Wayne Henry (2020) for 43 years. Beloved mother of Karl and his wife Sarah, Garth and his wife Angelina, and Ryan, all of Georgian Bluffs. Cherished grandmother of Edward, Lily-Ann, Vivienne, Georgia, Jackson, and Clayton. Much loved sister of Orval Ward (Sylvia), of Markdale; and sister-in-law of Doug (Pat), of Chatsworth, Ruth (Larry Krieg), of Owen Sound, Gail Bray (late Jim), of Wiarton, Sheila (Gary Gilbert), of Wiarton, and Penny Henry (partner Pat Holman), of Stokes Bay. Sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, George and Vivian Ward. Family wish to thank the doctors and nursing staff of the Wiarton Hospital and Gateway Haven for the wonderful care given to Freda. Friends may call for visitation at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Peninsula Chapel, 272 Berford St., Wiarton (519) 534-5341 on Friday May 3, 2024 from 12-2 PM, where a service to celebrate Freda’s life will take place at 2 o’clock. Interment in Bayview Cemetery. Donations to the Kemble Women’s Institute, the Kemble United Church, or to Friends of Gateway would be appreciated Condolences may be expressed online at www.whitcroftfuneralhome.com

Friends may call for visitation at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Peninsula Chapel, 272 Berford St., Wiarton (519) 534-5341 on Friday May 3, 2024 from 12-2 PM, where a service to celebrate Freda’s life will take place at 2 o’clock. Interment in Bayview Cemetery.

    Karl, Garth and Ryan and families, My deepest condolences in the passing of your Mom, Freda. What a wonderful woman she was and she will be greatly missed by many. I remember when you three were young and went to Sunday School at Kemble, She was the wardrobe master for the many plays we put on. Her pickles were legendary and brought in so much money at our church auction! And of course she was the face of the KWI. We will miss her smile and sunny disposition. She touched many hearts.     My condolences to the family.I knew Freda when I taught at Keppel Sarawak. She was so proud of her boys. Every year she would bring maple syrup to me. And as a Women’s institute member she served her community. She will be missed.

    Have known Freda for many years — going to high school with her and 4-H homemaking projects years ago. Laughed a good laugh at one of the Fair judging days when she said she threw something on the floor when it was frozen together from the freezer- it was a good homemaking hint. As usual don’t cross paths a lot though.
