Mason, Gary – of Saugeen First Nation #29, peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services Southampton on Thursday August 3, 2023. Robert Gary Mason at the age of 73 years. Dear brother of Marie Mason (late George), Gayle Mason-Stark (husband Bruce Stark), Ted Mason (Joanne), Elwood Mason, Margaret Lavallee (Thomas Kewageshig), Francis Krueger, Lorie (Darrell Jack), and Deanna Ingersol; and brother-in-law of Janice Mason, and Bonnie Mason. Sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents James Mason and Helen (nee Mandawaub); his best friend and partner, Doug Bignell (2022); brothers, Hilliard “Neeb” Besito. Phillip Mason, Alan Mason, and Matthew Mason; and sisters, Leona (David lawrence), and Shirley (Mel Elliott). Gary graduated from the University of Toronto with a B.A. in Social Work; and used this education to service as the Administrator of Child Social Services of Saugeen First Nation #29 for 51 years. Cremation has taken place. A graveside Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday August 8, 2023 at 2 o’clock at the Saugeen Village Cemetery, Saugeen First Nation #29. Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Thomas C. I will remember Gary as my good friend and neighbor down the street. We always had so much fun together at partand functions. I have to say that he was the life of the party. He told so many stories, he sang in nish and we would our heads off! I’m going to miss my friend but I also know he will be rejoining his family and friends who went on before him. What a grand celebration it will be.
