Jesse Thomas Manning, of Toronto, passed away suddenly, but peacefully, at his mother’s home on Thursday July 9, 2026, in his 43rd year. Beloved son of Gloria Weldrick. Dear brother of Janine Manning, of Owen Sound, Jasmine Manning, of Neyaashiinigmiing, Stacey Manning, of Thunder Bay, Tommy Manning of Couchiching First Nation, and Leo Manning, of Thunder Bay. He will be greatly missed by his aunties, Thelma Elliott, who was a second mother to him, and Angela Weldrick; many cousins; and by his nieces and nephews, especially Tarquinius Davidson, and Azalea Manning, who he loved dearly. Predeceased by his great grandparents Roger and Pearline Elliott, Grandparents Aleda and Elwood Weldrick, Rose and Murray Manning; father, Thomas Manning; brother, Jeff Elijah; sister, Amy Manning; and Uncles Charles Elliott, and Donald Weldrick.
Jesse was known for his humour and generosity, he had a big laugh and a bigger heart. Jesse was the man of the family, even as a little brother, who put the needs of those he loved above his own. His spirit name was ‘Head of the Heard’. A role he amplified as a protector and provider. He was ‘home away from home’ for many of his childhood friends, especially those from Cape Croker, whom he called brothers.
