John Stonehill October 29, 2023

John William Stonehill – of Lion’s Head, suddenly at Brightshores Health System Owen Sound on Sunday October 29, 2023 at the age of 76 years. Devoted husband and best friend of Julie (nee Wren) for 49 years. Dear father of Mark Stonehill (Joanne), and Lynne Rock, both of Dundas, and John Stonehill (Kim), of Hamilton. Cherished Poppa to Mandy, Derek, and Sarah; and great-grandfather of Ashley. Forever missed by his twin-sister, Judy Stonehill, of Dundas. Predeceased by his parents, Frank and Dorothy; brother, Bruce Stonehill; and great-grandson, Harrison. John served his province as a police officer for many years. He enjoyed being an amateur HAM Radio operator and being a member of the Bruce Peninsula Sportsmen Club. A gathering to celebrate John’s life will be announced at a later date. Private family arrangements were made at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Peninsula Chapel, Wiarton 519-534-5341.     I have such wonderful memories of cousin John. From a young age remembering visiting and having access to the “pop fridge” in the basement. Watching him use the ham radio. Time together at the lake and lots of conversations as I got older. I will miss John very much. Sorry to everyone for their loss
