Lavalley, Kathleen – of Neyaashiinigmiing, peacefully surrounded by her family at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Sunday August 6, 2023. Kathleen Elizabeth Lavalley (nee Petonoquot) at the age of 86 years. Loving mother of Nora Nadjiwon (Mark), Norma Lavallee, Nick Petonoquot, Paul Lavalley, Stan Lavalley, Hector Lavalley Jr. (Linda), Kathleen Lavalley Jr., and Calvin Lavalley. Cherished grandmother of 28; and great-grandmother of 26. Dear sister of Alice (Franklin Lavalley), and Dave Loguedoc (Kathy); and sister-in-law of Isabel Millette, Byron Lavalley, Peter Akiwenzie, and Kathy. Sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by her parents, James and Mina; husband, Hector Sr.; siblings, Kate Petonoquot, Gertrude Kewageshig, Ruby Anoquot, Velma Besito (Andy), Tony Petonoquot, and Jeff Petonoquot; brothers and sisters-in-law, Franklin Lavalley, Earl Akiwenzie, Larry Lavallee, Victor Lavalley, Evelyn Brennan, and Tilly Powell; and grandchildren, Nigel, Dean, Marcie, Ryan, Kiowa, and Cheyenne.

Family invite friends to gather for visitation at the Maadookii Senior Centre on Thursday August 10, 2023 from 2-4 PM for family only and 7-9 PM for friends, where a service to celebrate Kathleen’s life will be conducted on Friday at 2 o’clock. Pastor Tony Chegahno presiding. Music provided by the Ritchie family. Cremation to follow. Arrangements entrusted to the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041.
