Leslie “Jr.” “Jern” Junior Petonoquot – of Saugeen First Nation, surrounded by family after a brief illness at Brightshores Health System – Owen Sound on Monday November 18, 2024 at the age of 68 years. Dear brother of Joanne (Ted Mason), of Saugeen First Nation, Gene Petonoquot, of Southampton, and Paul King (late Cory), of Saugeen First Nation. Proud uncle to Leanne (Travis Kahgee), Jason Petonoquot (partner Tina Roote), Mark Petonoquot, and Trevor King; and great-uncle of Alexandra Petonoquot, Nathaniel Kahgee, Jace Petonoquot, and Waylan Roote. Family wish to express their appreciation to the Dr. Billings and the staff of the Southampton Hospital, and to the doctors and nurses of the ICU in the Owen Sound Hospital for the care given to Les. Predeceased by his parents Winnifred and Leslie Petonoquot; brothers, Maitland, and Cary “Egg”; and sisters, June King and Barbara Charlebois. Visitation will be held from the James Mason Memorial Community Recreation Centre, Saugeen First Nation #29 on Friday November 22, 2024 from 11 – 1, where a service to celebrate Les’ life will be conducted at 1 o’clock. Cremation to follow. Donations to Canadian Cancer Society or to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Thomas C.
