Orville Wright, of Wiarton, peacefully at Brightshores Health System Wiarton, on Tuesday July 9, 2024 with his daughter by his side. Orville Walter Wright at the age of 97 years. Devoted husband of the late Martina Mary Ellen Wright (nee Caudle) for more than 70 years. Beloved father of Pattijo (Stephen King), of Burlington, Kathy (Guy Ironmonger) and Ron (Carol Anne), both of Wiarton. Grandfather of Becky (Jay Delorme), Daniel and Tyler Ironmonger; and great-grandfather of Avery and Peyton Delorme, and Hailey Ironmonger. Forever missed by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Stanley and Rosie (nee Joyant); siblings and their spouses, Stan (Millie and Donaline) Wright, Albert Wright (Pearl), Lloyd Wright, Roy Wright (Audrey), Jim Wright (Sharon), Gladys (Al Perch), Shirley (Roger Ebel), Lillan (Ken Taylor), and Mary (Jack Myles); and his brothers and sisters-in-law, Gordon (Birdie and Joyce) Caudle, Ivan Caudle, Wilda (Elmer Jackman and Ivan Boyle), Wilbert (Blanche) and (Grace) Caudle, and Donna (Bernard Huggett). Family wish to express their gratitude to Dr. David Diodati and the nursing staff of the Wiarton Hospital for the care given to Orville. Family invite friends to gather for a Celebration of Life service for Orville to be held at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Peninsula Chapel, 272 Berford St., Wiarton (519) 534-5341 on Monday July 15, 2024 at 2 o’clock, with visitation one hour prior. Luncheon to follow. Donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
