Ron Morrice April 28, 2024

Ron Morrice, of Wiarton, passed away peacefully, with his daughter by his side, at the hospital in Owen Sound on Sunday April 28, 2024 at the age of 77 years. In 1946, Ron was born in Broadview, Saskatchewan to his parents, Alec and Eva Morrice (nee Begg). He was a dear brother of Patricia (Ronald Cameron) and big brother of Donalda (Joseph Coupal). After high school, he made his way east to Toronto, where he met and married his best friend and wife, Sheila (nee Adams). Ron was a fun, loving and easy-going dad to their daughter, Ronda-Lee (“Dee”) and her husband, Stephen Gordon. He had a great passion for sports and was proud to be a part-owner of his beloved Saskatchewan Rough Riders. In his last days, dad reflected on the many happy memories and time well spent with family and life-long friends. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the paramedics, emergency room doctors, nurses and staff at the hospital in Owen Sound for their exceptional care and compassion. A very special thank you to Heather, his PSW from HCSS, for the amazing support she provided the last two years. Private family arrangements entrusted to the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel, 814 Bruce Rd. 8, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041. Cremation has taken place. Interment in Colpoy’s Bay Cemetery. If desired, donations to the Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Condolences may be expressed online at www.whitcroftfuneralhome.com

Ron and Sheila (deceased) were so generous and welcomed everyone into their home and their hearts. Paul (deceased) and I will always treasure the memories we shared over the years we were in each other’s lives. Ron was a true “gentle”man.

A couple of other stories of more your mom come to mind. But Ron was a part of them. She would always say if Ronnie dies outside of the Kodak fence we will have to go throw him over the fence I think she said the insurance doubled. Always a twinkle in her eye when she jokingly said that. She always referred to him as the cute little bald guy. I think the last time I saw your mom she was doing a meal for the Baker Street ladies at the old curling club and I was dropping off her Xmas baking from Lorie. That would have been the year before she passed. I do recall going to an Owen Sound Attack game with your dad. If you send me your email address somewhere around here is a small picture of your mom and dad plus Lorie and I at Evies.
